"Temporal Passage"
8 x 9 ft oil on canvas painting with latex paint on the walls totaling 144 x 126 x 23.5 inches, 2021
My paintings depict uninhabited portrayals of a fabricated landscape. My process includes building a small maquette that utilizes a blend of man-made materials (aluminum foil, cellophane, acrylic paint, glass, glue, other found rubbish) with geological materials (sand, granite). I light these constructed forms for a particular time of day with colored gels then photograph them. The digitally manipulated images serve as painting references.
